Family portraits by Andrea Russell Photography

Even though I am primarily a Commercial Photographer, I do get asked quite often to photograph families. 

There are many reasons to book a photography session with a professional.    

Sometimes it is for special occasions; family gathering from far and wide and they are after a professional to capture this rare but very important event. 

Sometimes it is because a pet is now elderly, and the family wants portraits with their loved member of the family. 

Sometimes it is because kids are growing up fast and mum and dad or grandparents are wanting to capture their childhood before they transition to teenager or young adulthood. 

Sometimes it is because the family has moved into a new home and wanting beautiful canvas prints to adorn their walls. 

Sometimes it is a present for a friend or a family member – an experience of being photographed IS truly special:)

A session with me is relaxing. 

I treat it as if I am taking a nice beach or park stroll, following the family around and directing their poses so we can get some lovely images. 

Shoots usually take 30 minutes to 45min max. 

Afterwards I work on the images, processing them and selecting the best images to work on in Photoshop if required.

If the family wishes to print any images, I have a professional printer I work with.  They are Ilford Australia’s only Master Printer, so the quality of the prints is incredible.  They can also frame and print on canvas, so I have many options for my families when it comes to finished product.
